Do you enjoy working as part of a busy team, meeting and helping people of all ages and providing excellent customer service? Hampshire’s Libraries need enthusiastic and innovative Library Team Assistants to join our busy and flexible teams.
Your role will be to provide a welcoming environment for all and support the community hub concept in our libraries. You will plan and deliver engaging activities for children such as Rhymetime and Storytime, as well as activities for adults. You will work with partners and signpost customers when needed.
You will ensure an excellent customer experience by using effective communication skills to encourage exploration of our resources, including books, apps for eMagazines and eBooks, and participation in promotions, courses, and events. You will also support customers with IT facilities, manage stock, and handle general administration.
Applicants should have a good general education, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and good IT skills. The ability to use initiative is essential.
You will be required to travel between libraries or work at nearby libraries regularly, with specific travel requirements discussed at interview. A full induction and training will be provided.
