Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Library Team Manager to shape the culture and future of its busy Library Service, supporting the central management team across Eastleigh and Winchester districts. With 40 sites and millions of visits, you’ll lead a large team of core staff and volunteers to keep libraries vibrant community hubs.

You’ll drive growth, oversee building management and health and safety, lead countywide projects, and build partnerships with local groups to extend services.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a library team and driving high‑quality services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, customers and partners.
• Ability to motivate and support staff across multiple sites.
• Commitment to community‑focused library services.
• Excellent organisation and prioritisation under pressure.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in library settings.
