Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Library and Knowledge Services Assistant for the Watford General Hospital Library. The role supports NHS staff by locating and supplying information for decision-making, education, research and development, and provides essential library administration.

The position is based at Watford General with occasional support at St Albans City Hospital; working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Experience at an enquiries desk in a library or information service.
• Good ICT skills and ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks during busy periods

Responsibilities

• Operate enquiries desk to help NHS staff find relevant information.
• Search multiple databases and systems to locate publications and supply them.
• Process new library registrations and track overdue items.
• Shelve books and keep collections tidy and catalogued.
• Promote library services and create promotional content.
