Job summary

Libraries NI is seeking a reliable Caretaker / Assistant Building Supervisor to maintain safe, clean and secure library premises. You will perform cleaning tasks, manage opening and closing routines, and provide support to day-to-day library operations.

The role may involve lone working and weekend shifts. Applicants should hold a valid driving licence and have at least one year of relevant experience, with knowledge of COSHH/CLP health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building cleaning methods and equipment.
• Awareness of Health and Safety legislation (COSHH/CLP).
• One year or more in a similar role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties as per procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Open/close library buildings; act as key holder.
• Maintain security of premises.
• Ensure facilities are clean, safe and presentable.
