Job summary

South Ayrshire Council is seeking a Library Assistant to support the Assistant in Charge in delivering an efficient and effective library service for the community. The role operates on a Frontline basis with a three-day pattern (Thursday-Friday-Saturday 9am-5pm) and requires PVG scheme membership or update prior to formal offer.

You will work across the diverse communities including Girvan, Ayr and surrounding areas, contributing to a welcoming environment, assisting users, and supporting

Qualifications

• PVG scheme awareness required.
• Frontline library service experience is desirable.
• Public sector experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Assistant in Charge in providing an efficient and effective library service.
• Deliver frontline library services to the public and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Assist with access and operation of library resources and services as required.
