The Bodleian Libraries are looking for someone who can make a real difference to the services they deliver to the staff and students in the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division. The Bodleian Health Care Libraries, part of the Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford, are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Grade 3 Library Assistant to join their friendly team.
This is a fixed-term position until 31 March 2027, working part-time for 21.9 hours per week (working pattern 8.40-1.00 Mon-Fri), based at the Knowledge Centre, Old Road Campus Research Building, Oxford.
This role focuses on providing essential front-line support within the Bodleian Health Care Libraries, including welcoming readers and visitors and administering the library’s admissions procedures, responding to enquiries and providing direction to appropriate services. You will undertake a range of duties on front line desks, at all times providing high quality customer service. You will need experience of working in a customer service focused environment.
This role requires lifting, moving and carrying books.
