Job summary

Glasgow Life is seeking a Libraries & Communities Coordinator to join the Community Library Operations team. You will support the city’s 32 libraries, help manage daily operations, planning and development, and work with partners to deliver cultural and learning programmes across Glasgow.

The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, hybrid, with PVG checks required. The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience, experience in budgeting and leading a team, and strong

What you need to know

Hours

35 per week. Work pattern usually Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, with some flexibility to meet operational needs of the service, as required.

Hybrid. You will spend part of your week at home, and part of your week in one of our offices.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

What you’ll do

As a Libraries & Communities Coordinator, you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Libraries & Communities Manager (Community Library. You will play an essential role in supporting the operational management of the city’s community library network, comprising 32 libraries spread across Glasgow and contributing to strategic management, planning, operations, development, and delivery of services within Libraries and Communities.

Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

• Supporting our communities
• Creating cultural experiences
• Or working behind the scenes to make it all happen

Who you are

We’re looking for someone with the right skills who brings energy to the role.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience
• Previous experience of managing budgets
• Previous experience of leading a team
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Previous experience of partnership working with a strong ability to develop and influence at a geographic level
