Job summary

West London NHS Trust is seeking dedicated professionals to join our Liaison Psychiatry Service in the Hounslow Team at West Middlesex University Hospital. You’ll assess and manage mental health needs in acute hospital settings, working within a multidisciplinary team to support patients aged 16 and above.

The role offers opportunities for autonomous practice, ongoing supervision, and peer training, with a focus on high-quality care and improving patient and carer experience across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the appropriate body (NMC/HCPC/ Social Work England) and eligible to practice in the UK.
• Experience in liaison psychiatry or acute hospital settings is beneficial.
• Ability to perform biopsychosocial assessments and contribute to care planning.

Responsibilities

• Undertake biopsychosocial assessments for patients in ED, Urgent Treatment Centre or medical wards with mental health needs.
• Collaborate with clinicians and managers to coordinate safe discharge plans.
• Provide formal and informal training to peers and acute trust colleagues to enhance patient care.
• Promote carer/family involvement and liaise with other health and social care professionals as needed.
