Dorset HealthCare is seeking an administrator to join the Liaison Psychiatry Team at Poole/Bournemouth sites. You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support, handle referrals, reports, and organise meetings and conferences, and manage mail and communications efficiently.

Excellent IT skills and strong written and verbal English are essential. You must be able to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively within a busy team.

Job description

The Liaison Psychiatry Team provide assessments and support to service users referred to our service by the general hospital wards., To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Psychiatry Liaison team at Dorset County hospital , to include: providing requested correspondence, referrals to service, reports, the organisation of meetings/conferences and faxing, photocopying and e-mailing services in an efficient and timely manner. To process incoming and outgoing mail. To date stamp incoming mail and forwardappropriately and to ensure that outgoing mail is despatched using the appropriate mailingservice and is always correctly addressed. To provide a responsive, prompt, caring and highly professional phone-in service topatients, carers, relatives and all other professionals and agencies, ensuring that thisservice is operational between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm., For the main duties and responsibilities for this role please read the attached job description and person specification. We are looking to recruit an administrator to our team. You will be required to have excellent communicate and interpersonal skills, as day to day you will be required to interact with a number of different people, and are often the first point of call when contacting our service. In additional to customer care skills you be need to demonstrate excellent IT skills. You must be able to work accurately under pressure, whilst remaining calm, and be able to work well as part of a team. You will be working within a team of administrators who provide a comprehensive administrative service across the Poole and Bournemouth sites. The role is office based. Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.

  • Good standard of general education eg: GCSEs
  • RSA level or equivalent qualification, Sound use of Word, Microsoft and Windows

  • Able to work under pressure and time frames effectively, Able to use own initiative and problem solving skills, The role requires the postholder to sit at a keyboard for frequent periods of time and use a VDU/ computer on a frequent basis

  • Demonstrate skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable the post holder to carry out the role effectively
