Job description

Dalcour Maclaren is an innovative and highly dynamic multi-disciplinary consultancy working on a huge range of exciting and diverse projects for a growing client base within Utilities and Infrastructure – think HS2, Offshore wind farms and Nuclear Energy! Our Power Generation team continues to play a leading role in the delivery of green and renewable energy projects in East Anglia, and we are looking for a Liaison Officer to bolster the existing team based from our Thetford office. You will lead on and build relationships with landowners, farmers and affected stakeholders, and facilitate land access, survey works and agreements on large scale Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

As a Liaison Officer you will:

  1. Proactively engage with landowners to secure the consents required and monitor surveys and construction works.
  2. Keep the client up to date and advise them on practical, best practice & agricultural matters affecting land.
  3. Complete land referencing, including finding owners and occupiers of land.
  4. Assist the team and settle compensation claims.
  5. Maintain accurate stakeholder records tracking progress and provide clear and concise records of condition.
  6. Work in line with client-set timeframes and targets to ensure the timely delivery of the programme of land access or works.
  7. Work closely with project teams, often operating directly from the project/client site.
  8. Provide guidance and support to trainees as required, including apprentices and work placement students.
  9. Build and maintain own knowledge and skills through company run training.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Have a full UK driving licence.
  2. Have good knowledge of agriculture and rural affairs.
  3. Be an excellent communicator with the willingness to learn and develop.
  4. Be self-motivated and organised.
  5. Be a great team player and have a can-do attitude.
  6. Be adaptable and willing to accept and adapt to change.
  7. Have experience of working with soils or construction (not essential).
