Job summary

HDI Global SE is seeking an experienced Liability Underwriter to join our UK & London market team. You will underwrite risks, engage brokers and clients, and help deliver HDI’s business plans with a proactive, collaborative mindset.

The role requires strong analytical ability, relationship-building, and the drive to improve processes while complying with internal guidelines and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Prior liability underwriting experience within a corporate/insurer setting.
• Knowledge of multinational programmes is desirable.
• Ability to read underwriting files and extract required data for regulatory purposes.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with brokers and clients.
• Capable of building/maintaining relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Able to evaluate information from diverse sources and solve problems.
• Maintains accurate, orderly files for auditing and regulatory needs.
• Proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to embrace change.
• Demonstrates innovative, creative problem solving.
• Organises workload to meet service standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with brokers and clients in the UK & London markets.
• Represent HDI at external networking events and promote the brand.
• Underwrite individual risks, gather background data and determine premiums.
• Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new business.
• Enter data into systems and produce management reports on risks.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver HDI’s product and proposition.
• Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement.
• Comply with HDI-UK & Ireland policies, guidelines, and authority.
• Participate in internal forums, committees and projects.
• Contribute to initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.
• Undertake other tasks to help the team achieve objectives.
