Overview

Join to apply for the Underwriting Operations Analyst role at HDI Global SE. HDI is a Corporate & Specialty Insurer part of the Talanx Group with over 120 years of experience, operating across five continents, around 40 countries and employing over 5,000 people worldwide.

This position is within our Long Tail hub in the Operations team. The team works closely with our Professional Lines, Financial Lines and Credit & Political Risk Underwriters based in London. The Underwriting Operations Analyst will provide operational services and pre-bind and post-bind support to our Underwriters, while helping refine the support provided to improve efficiency and service.

This role would suit an individual who has worked within the insurance industry, with experience or an interest in an operational role.

Key accountabilities
  • Manage the team mailbox and ensure all correspondence is dealt with efficiently and timely.
  • Transfer underwriting information and correspondence into the appropriate documents and management system (Doxis) where applicable.
  • Data entry of all policy types and endorsements using the underwriting data entry system – Enora – on behalf of the team.
  • Data entry into relevant team systems (RE7, etc.).
  • Ensure a timely, efficient and appropriate workflow process is followed from start to finish.
Data Quality
  • Monitor and review policy data input to eNora, ensuring compliance with data quality protocols via the Approval Gate.
  • Maintain responsibility for individual error rate in line with company standards and expectations.
Managing Relationships
  • Deliver high-quality service to the business and develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with underwriters and brokers by providing excellent service.
Risk and Controls
  • Ensure all risks comply with regulatory and compliance checks in line with underwriting guidelines and local and group policies.
  • Implement and maintain process controls to ensure output quality; document processes and outputs accurately and accessibly.
Process Improvement
  • Suggest and implement process improvements within the role; enhance effectiveness of services and systems used by the Operations team; participate in special underwriting projects as needed.
Credit Control
  • Reconcile and investigate accounting queries from the Technical Operations team, including weekly DSIGN reports and individual account queries.
Reporting
  • Understand MI reporting, assist with team KPIs and regulatory reporting when required; analyze data and prepare reports for own and underwriters’ use.
IT
  • Understand IT systems used within the role; attend UK Key User Group to stay informed about system changes and provide input.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within an insurance role.
  • Knowledge of the London Market; key practices and principles within underwriting are desirable but not essential.
  • A-level or equivalent or higher.
  • Working towards CII qualifications or similar industry-recognised qualifications is desirable but not essential.
