Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a Liability Claims Handler in Basildon with hybrid working (minimum 3 days in the office). You will investigate, validate, negotiate and settle Third-Party Property Damage claims, with a small allocation of lower-value Personal Injury matters.

A strong grasp of liability principles and insurer protocols is essential. You will report to the Senior Claims Supervisor and work closely with claimants, brokers, insurers, solicitors and loss adjusters to resolve claims

Qualifications

• Experience handling Third-Party Property Damage claims within insurer/ MGA environment.
• Experience with Personal Injury claims is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with negligence law, duty of care and causation principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Third-Party Liability claims from first notification through settlement.
• Assess liability, review medical evidence and reserve management.
• Negotiate settlements and escalate complex or high-value claims as needed.
• Maintain detailed file notes and use Pro-Claim for documentation.
• Coordinate with brokers, insurers, solicitors and engineers to progress claims.
