Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking reliable LGV Refuse Drivers to join the Waste and Street Scene team in Skipton. The role involves safe operation of LGVs up to 32t, supervising a collection crew, and maintaining high standards of service and safety.

You will follow CPC requirements, complete daily vehicle checks, use in-cab devices for job paperwork, and deliver excellent customer service while working as part of a responsive street cleansing operation.

Qualifications

• Must hold LGV/HGV licence and CPC certification.
• Experience in waste collection or similar operations preferred.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drive LGV up to 32t and follow safe systems of work at all times.
• Supervise the collection crew and ensure high safety and service standards.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and records; report defects.
• Use paperwork or in-cab devices to log activity and communicate with the public.
