Job summary

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an LGV Mechanic to maintain our fleet of fire appliances and specialist vehicles. Based at Malvern, you will join a dedicated workshop team and support remote sites across Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

The role is permanent, 37 hours per week with on-call duties. Time-served LGV/HGV/PSV mechanics welcome to apply; training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Time-served LGV/HGV/PSV mechanics considered.
• Based at Malvern with on-site workshop duties and remote site work.
• Additional training provided for specialist aspects.

Responsibilities

• Work from the Malvern workshop and remote fire stations across counties.

Scale SO1

£34,434 - £36,363 per annum

Plus a guaranteed allowance of £1,105 and on-call allowance up to £7,272.

37 hours per week (plus one week in six on-call)

Based at Betony Road, Malvern

The Role

Do you want to form part of our team of mechanics working on operational fire appliances and specialist vehicles? This role really makes a difference and ensures that we provide first class firefighting and rescue operations around the clock for our communities within Herefordshire & Worcestershire. Based at Malvern in our modern workshop facilities, you will also be required to work remotely at our fire stations across both counties, to maintain our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

We will consider applications from time served LGV, HGV and PSV mechanics and will provide additional training as required for the more specialist aspects of the role.
