Job summary

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service in Malvern is seeking an LGV/HGV/PSV mechanic to maintain and service the fire fleet. The role is based at Betony Road, Malvern, with travel to stations across Herefordshire and Worcestershire for essential fleet support.

Applicants should be time served mechanics, ready to work an average 37-hour week with on-call duties. Permanent contract with annual leave and benefits available. Training is provided for specialist aspects as needed.

Qualifications

• Time served LGV/HGV/PSV mechanics; full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work across Malvern, Worcestershire and Herefordshire sites.
• On-call rota and shift flexibility as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational fire appliances and specialist vehicles in workshop and on site.
• Work from Malvern and travel to fire stations to service fleet.

The Role

Do you want to form part of our team of mechanics working on operational fire appliances and specialist vehicles? This role really makes a difference and ensures that we provide first class firefighting and rescue operations around the clock for our communities within Herefordshire & Worcestershire. Based at Malvern in our modern workshop facilities, you will also be required to work remotely at our fire stations across both counties, to maintain our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

We will consider applications from time served LGV, HGV and PSV mechanics and will provide additional training as required for the more specialist aspects of the role.
