Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a Driver for the Household Waste Recycling Centre in Hanford. The role involves operating waste handling plant, ensuring safe movement of vehicles and materials, and guiding the public to achieve proper waste segregation.

You will work 37 hours per week with flexible and hybrid working options, and benefit from a competitive local authority pension scheme and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CPC qualification/card required.
• Experience in a waste environment such as an operational depot or waste transfer station.
• Experience working to strict health and safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing with a wide range of colleagues and customers.
• Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.

Responsabilités

• Drive and operate the assigned plant, shunter hook-lift vehicle and road hook-light for storage and transport of waste and recyclables.
• Follow site rules and adhere to speed limits and reversing procedures with required safety protocols.
• Report accidents or incidents to the Operations Team Leader.
• Assist and direct the public on site to ensure correct segregation of waste and recyclables.
• Drive safely and courteously, following traffic regulations.
