Job summary

East Staffordshire Borough Council is seeking a Refuse & Recycling HGV Driver/Loader for local duties, with no overnight travel. You will operate 7.5t and 26t vehicles, supervise crew, and perform daily safety checks. A HGV Class C licence with CPC is required; prior refuse vehicle experience is helpful, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a HGV Class C licence (Class 2) and a Driver CPC.
• Experience driving Class C vehicles is required.
• Supervising a collection crew is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive allocated waste collection vehicles (7.5 tonne and 26-tonne when required).
• Be responsible for the vehicle and crew, including safety and security.
• Perform pre-departure checks and daily vehicle maintenance checks; report defects.
• Operate in-cab devices to monitor workflow as required.
