Job summary

DPD UK is looking for a reliable LGV Driver to join our Carlisle team. You will drive a modern fleet, perform nationwide collections and deliveries, and work a fixed Tue-Sat schedule in a role that combines logistics with technology-driven operations.

You must hold a UK Class 1 licence (CE), CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card, with at least 6 months of Class 1 experience. Expect a safety-first, customer-focused mindset and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• Excellent knowledge of UK roads and a safety-first mindset.
• Resourceful, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while delivering great service.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on LGV-friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and supervise live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and tachographs to manage routes and remain compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country.
• Perform vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key player in our national transport department, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.

• The Mission: Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on LGV-friendly locations.
• Logistics: Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Tech & Compliance: Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.

• Safety First: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
