Job summary

DPD UK in Dunstable is hiring a reliable LGV Driver to operate a modern fleet and keep the network moving. You will contribute to a national transport schedule and handle trailer swaps, live loading, and on-time deliveries.

Expected to work Sunday to Thursday, with a 40-hour week and a focus on safety, compliance, and great service. Training and modern equipment provided to support your career at DPD UK.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (CE) Licence and CPC Card.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Minimum 6 months experience with Class 1 vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, especially to LGV-friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and tachographs to plan routes and stay compliant.

• The Pay: £16.35 ph + £2.72 ph night rate premium between 18:00 to 06:00 + enhanced overtime rate

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key player in our national transport department, moving bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers.

• The Mission: Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on LGV-friendly locations.
• Logistics: Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Tech & Compliance: Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.
• The Face of DPD: Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country. Professional, resourceful, and reliable.
• Safety First: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• The Experience: At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• The Skillset: Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a "safety-first" mindset.
• The Vibe: You’re a resourceful problem-solver who can work under pressure and hit deadlines whilst delivering great service
