Job summary

Biffa Group is hiring an LGV Driver for the AM shift in Swindon. The role involves driving LGV vehicles, collecting and emptying bins from trade waste customers, and working on a single-person crew or with others as needed.

Start times 05:00–14:30, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of £16.87 per hour. This outdoor role rewards initiative and offers on-the-job training, access to Biffa Perkz discounts, and family-friendly policies.

Qualifications

Valid LGV/HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
Valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
Previous Class 2 driving experience.
Good understanding of road safety and vehicle safety.
Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph requirements.
Ability to safely manoeuvre and operate a large rigid vehicle.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a crew, depending on the role.
Good awareness of health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Drive LGV vehicles including front and back loaders to collect and empty bins from trade waste customers.
Work as part of a single person crew or in a crew as required.
Carry out duties outdoors and use initiative to benefit the local environment and communities.
