Job summary

Gateshead Council is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join Larkspur Community Primary School in Gateshead. The role supports learning, wellbeing and inclusion across our primary phase. You will hold a Level 3 TA qualification, have experience in Early Years and phonics, and support children with SEND.

Paediatric First Aid is required or obtainable. This full-time post is 37 hours per week, term time only, with a salary of £24,122–£25,767.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Has experience in Early Years and across the primary age range.
• Has experience supporting phonics.
• Has experience supporting children with SEND.
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support learning, wellbeing and inclusion across the primary phase.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Assist with planning and delivering learning activities and small-group work.
• Support pupils with phonics and literacy development as part of class routines.
