Job summary

St Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Gateshead is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with identified needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will help access learning, contribute to the curriculum, and maintain a positive learning environment during term-time only.

The role is 21 hours 15 minutes per week, across Monday to Friday mornings, with a temporary contract and pro rata salary (£27,709–£29,070 per annum).

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, with SEN experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with identified needs.
• Support delivery of the curriculum and learning activities.
• Assist with group work and classroom routines.
