Job summary

Oasis Academy Fir Vale in Sheffield is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work under teachers and senior staff to deliver targeted learning, care and support, helping pupils access learning and reach their potential.

You will support pupils with SEND and EAL, promote inclusive practice, prepare resources, monitor progress and contribute to safeguarding and welfare within a vibrant, diverse community.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND, EAL and additional learning needs.
• A strong understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
• Confidence in using ICT to support teaching, learning and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support Pupils: Build positive relationships with pupils, promote high expectations, provide targeted support for SEND/EAL learners.
• Support Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging learning activities, prepare materials, adapt resources, monitor participation and progress.
• Working with Families and Professionals: Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Supporting the Wider School Community: Supervise pupils during breaks, accompany on trips, and participate in safeguarding and performance development.
