Job summary

Upperwood Academy in Barnsley is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant Apprentice to support pupils' learning and wellbeing while gaining a Level 3 qualification.

You will work under teachers, help with activities, promote inclusion, and develop ICT skills; uphold safeguarding practices. This role offers practical training in a school setting with opportunities for progression.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and committed Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our dedicated school team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside experienced professionals while completing a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of teachers and senior staff to support pupils' learning, wellbeing and development. You will help create a positive learning environment, assist in classroom activities and support children both individually and in groups.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils to access learning activities and achieve their potential.
• Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and independence.
• Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and classroom organisation.
• Supporting the use of ICT and learning resources.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Contributing to the safeguarding and welfare of all children.
