Job summary

Blackfriars Academy in Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with educational and behavioural needs. You will work closely with teachers to deliver learning and behaviour programmes, mentor pupils one-to-one, and monitor progress within a supportive, inclusive environment.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, contributing to a safe and engaging learning culture and helping pupils

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting pupils with learning needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with educational, behavioural and pastoral needs.
• Offer 1:1 mentoring and support to individual pupils.
• Assist with learning and behaviour programmes within the classroom.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual support plans.
• Liaise with parents and carers to support attendance and engagement.
