Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Levenshulme to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with speech and language needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning with confidence in a nurturing environment.

The role offers ongoing professional development through our CPD Academy, a straightforward online portal for administration, and dedicated safeguarding and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with speech and language needs (essential).
  • Ability to work as part of a wider school team.
  • SEN-related training or qualifications (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Providing targeted support for pupils with speech and language difficulties.
  • Delivering tailored interventions alongside the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists.
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and social development.
  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to IEPs and pupil reviews.

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Levenshulme to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role will involve supporting pupils with speech and language needs, helping them develop essential communication skills, confidence, and independence within a nurturing learning environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, ensuring they can access learning and achieve their individual goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing targeted support for pupils with speech and language difficulties
  • Delivering tailored interventions alongside the SENCO, class teachers, and external specialists
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and social development
  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and pupil reviews
