Job summary

Educato Recruitment is partnering with a Bolton-based specialist secondary school to recruit a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant for September. The role is 1:1 and small-group support across the school day, assisting pupils in classrooms and practical lessons, and helping develop communication and social skills aligned with EHCP goals.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEN, Autism/SEMH/MLD/SLD needs, and a calm, resilient attitude.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, MLD, SLD or communication needs.
  • Calm, resilient and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
  • Confident using initiative and adapting to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Location: Bolton Salary: £112.50 per day Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full Academic Year (Long-Term Opportunity) Educato Recruitment are proud to be working with a highly regarded specialist secondary school in Bolton, seeking a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September.

The Role
