Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Rochdale is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND, SEMH and complex needs. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help delivery of interventions and track progress. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a start date of 14th September 2026.

You must have a Level 3 TA qualification, the right to work in the UK, and be prepared to undergo safeguarding checks. Salary is quoted per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs.
• Deliver tailored interventions and support plans to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Mentor pupils to promote resilience, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
• Work with teachers to co-plan lessons, track progress, and contribute to pupil development.
• Support the wider school team in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.

About the Role as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant:

What We're Looking For in a Level 3 Teaching Assistant:

• Proven experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or complex needs
• A Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues
• A compassionate, calm, and proactive approach to behaviour and learning support
• Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, and SEND strategies

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service (or be willing to apply)
• Provide two professional child-related references
