Job summary

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a warm specialist school in Rochdale to recruit a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND, SEMH and complex needs.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, deliver targeted interventions, and work with teachers to track progress and develop individual plans. A calm, compassionate approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or complex needs.
• A Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, compassionate approach to behaviour and learning support.
• Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH and SEND strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs.
• Deliver tailored interventions and support plans to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Mentor and guide pupils, promoting resilience, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers to co-plan lessons, track progress, and contribute to pupil development.
• Support the wider school team in creating a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.

Salary: 550- 800 per week

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

• A compassionate, calm, and proactive approach to behaviour and learning support
• Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, and SEND strategies

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service (or be willing to apply)
• Provide two professional child-related references
