Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a permanent Level 3 Support Worker in the Children & Families Services team. The role provides hands-on help for disabled children and young people at home and in group activities to build independence and life skills.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years' experience in residential childcare.
• Experience with children and young people who may display challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and practical support to children and young people.
• Leading two-to-one support arrangements to keep young people safe and well.
• Supporting young people to use community facilities and build life skills.
• Working closely with families to strengthen relationships and family time.
• Contributing to support planning and reviews.
• Observing and recording changes in a young person's needs.
