Are you an experienced Nursery Practitioner looking for the next step in your career?

If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Here at Elmwood Nursery, we are seeking a Qualified Nursery Practitioner to provide quality day care services and assist in the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You’ll promote a stimulating environment of play, encouraging and supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the children.

You’ll establish and maintain a good relationship with parents, acknowledging them as the primary carers, and maintain objective, accurate, and up-to-date records that identify the children’s individual needs, abilities, and progress, using these factors for future planning.

As our Nursery Practitioner, we’d like you to have at least 3 years of experience working in a Nursery or Pre-school setting as a qualified practitioner, hold a NNEB or NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education, and demonstrate experience caring for children from 3 months to 5 years of age in a group setting.

With knowledge of the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs and development of children from 3 months to 5 years, you’ll have awareness of and respect for individual needs, including multi-cultural awareness. You’ll hold a Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy, possess good communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team with flexibility to attend meetings or activities outside of normal working hours.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any salary increase resulting from the annual cost of living review, implemented in the new academic year.

Closing date for the application is 14th May 2025.

The benefits package includes 27 days of annual leave plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year, 5 days of Wellbeing leave, an excellent pension scheme (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities, professional development opportunities, and a cycle-to-work salary sacrifice scheme.
