Job summary

Mayfield School is seeking two experienced, positive and flexible EYFS Teaching Assistants to join our team. Our school serves 315 pupils aged 3–19 with diverse special educational needs, across two sites at Heathfield Road Handsworth and Wheeler Street Lozells.

Salary:Grade 3 £27,254 to £33,699 FTE (£21,217.91 to £26,235.50 Actual) Pay award pending Autumn 2026

Allowances:SEN allowance £1,722 pro rata

Hours of work:32.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri) Term time only

About the role:

Mayfield School is looking for two experienced, positive and flexible teaching assistants with relevant EYFS qualifications to join our team. Our school is a special school for 315 pupils aged between 3 and 19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism.

The school is split across two sites - Wheeler Street in Lozells (co-located with Holte School and Lozells Junior and Infant School and Nursery) and Heathfield Road in Handsworth. The EYFS department, currently made up of two class groups, is based at Mayfield’s Heathfield Road site.
