Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Nelson. You will support the EYFS teacher, promote learning through play, and help create a nurturing environment for the youngest learners.

The role involves delivering EYFS activities, assisting with observations, and supporting children with diverse needs. The position is full-time, term-time only, with a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Childcare, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an EYFS setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Strong teamwork and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of engaging EYFS learning activities in line with the Early Years Framework.
• Work with individual children and small groups to develop communication, literacy, numeracy and social skills.
• Encourage learning through play and child-led activities.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing and foster positive behaviour.
• Assist with observations, assessments and learning records.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Support children with additional needs where required.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays and resources.
