Job summary

Igloo Ltd is recruiting for a Level 2 Vehicle Technician to join our client's busy automotive site in Upper Heyford. This is a great opportunity to work within a skilled workshop team, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of vehicles.

You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to a high standard, working efficiently and safely in a fast-paced workshop and compound environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• 1–2 years' experience in a workshop or garage environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical and basic electrical vehicle systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical data.
• Physically fit and comfortable with long periods on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection.
• Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and technical tasks.
• Work in the workshop and on vehicles in the yard/compound as required.
• Accurately record all work, parts used and time taken.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Keep up to date with technical developments and attend training when required.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a workshop or garage environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical and basic electrical vehicle systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
• Full UK or EU driving licence.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and being on your feet for extended periods.

Desirable:

• Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
