Job summary

St Bartholomew’s CE Multi Academy Trust is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide SEND 1:1 support at Gnosall St Lawrence CE Primary Academy. The role is temporary and term-time, with 27.5 hours per week across 44.85 paid weeks.

The successful candidate should hold a Level 2 TA qualification (or be willing to work towards one) and have experience with SEND, strong communication, patience, and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENDCo and external agencies.
• Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and relevant staff.
• Support the safeguarding and welfare of pupils at all times.

We are looking for Level 2 Teaching Assistant – SEND 1:1.

We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, parents, and external professionals to support the pupil's learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing. The role requires patience, flexibility, and a commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards one.
• Have experience of working with children with SEND, either in a school or similar setting.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable.
• Have a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Be committed to inclusion and ensuring the best outcomes for all children.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team while using their own initiative.
