Job summary

Queen Margaret Primary Academy in Scotland is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term basis to support pupils in class under teacher direction. The role is 24.25 hours per week, term-time, with some flexibility over days and one-to-one/small-group work. Start date January 2027, visa sponsorship not available, runs until August 2027.

The TA will deliver planned activities, support learning, track progress and collaborate with staff and families to raise attainment and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the classroom to access learning, stay focused and make progress.
• Deliver planned learning activities and targeted interventions under the class teacher's guidance.
• Support academic progress, social and emotional development, growing independence and positive behaviour.
• Work with teachers, leaders and other professionals to monitor progress and share insights so support stays responsive.
• Contribute to assessment and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and with parents and carers.
