Job summary

Mayfield School is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. You will help teachers create learning opportunities for children in their own individual ways, support lessons, and write observations to inform teaching.

Experience is desirable but not essential as on-the-job training will be provided. We offer part-time or full-time contracts with hours from 8:55 am to 3:25 pm, term time only, and a starting salary of £18,430.36 per annum, paid across 12 months.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm to learn new skills in a school-based environment.
• Good understanding of child development and learning processes.
• Ability to be a great team player and also work independently and use initiative.
• Open-minded and inquisitive approach while following strategies and procedures.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with children, staff and families.
• Experience of using ICT effectively.

Responsibilities

• Write observations for the teacher to inform planning and support.
• Support the teacher in creating opportunities for children to learn in their own individual ways.
• On-the-job training will be provided by nurses, therapists and senior staff to carry out day-to-day and medical procedures.
