Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a friendly SL1 area primary school, starting September. This full-time role supports pupils with diverse needs under the guidance of the class teacher.

You should hold a Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent) and have experience with children in schools, care, or related settings. DBS disclosure and a positive, collaborative approach are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children (school, nursery, or care setting).
• Patient, positive, and adaptable approach.
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Desirable: experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
• Desirable: previous school-based experience.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
• Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help adapt learning materials to suit individual needs.
• Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies.
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN support teams.
