Job summary

Desian Education is partnering with a single-form entry primary school in Winsford to recruit a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 ASD pupil in Year 3. You will support the pupil throughout the school day, liaising with parents and staff, and use targeted strategies such as Now & Next, sensory breaks and regulation techniques to sustain engagement and progress, in a nurturing and challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified teaching assistant with ASD experience.
• Experience supporting a pupil 1:1 in a primary setting.
• Ability to manage PDA-related behaviours and disengagement.

Responsibilities

Level 2 Teaching Assistant - 1:1 ASD Year 3

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a single-form entry primary school in Winsford that is easily accessible via public transport as they require a qualified and motivated teaching assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.

In this role you will be joining the year 3 class and play a vital role in the education and development of a pupil with ASD. This is an extremely rewarding long-term full-time opportunity.

Your new role:

As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining the year 3 class to play an integral part in the education of a pupil with an ASD diagnosis. You will support this pupil on a 1:1 basis, supporting them throughout the school day and liaising with their parents/guardians on their progress. The pupil you will be supporting is extremely high functioning and does have the ability to access the curriculum but due to them also being PDA they can at times present challenging behaviours and become disengaged. Other duties will include:

• Use of "Now & Next", sensory breaks and regulation strategies to manages triggers and escalation points
• Use a pupil lead curriculum delivery method to encourage learning
• Incorporate pupil key interests into learning material to promote engagement and focus
