Gilfach Fargoed Primary School seeks two enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work within junior classes. The roles involve supporting learning under the guidance of teaching staff, leading small groups, and promoting positive behaviour. Candidates should possess NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education and have experience with junior-aged children. The position is for 30 hours weekly on a fixed term contract, starting September 2025.

The Governing Body of Gilfach Fargoed Primary and Park Primary Schools Federation is looking to employ several enthusiastic, committed and hard-working Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work mainly within junior classes at Gilfach Fargoed Primary.

Basis: Fixed term contract
The Governing Body seeks to appoint a dynamic Level 2 teaching assistant to support learning in the school. Candidates should have NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education or equivalent to support learning effectively.
The Teaching Assistant will work under the guidance and supervision of the Teaching and Senior Staff to implement agreed programmes of work.
The postholder will support class teachers with assessment procedures and behaviour management.
There is an emphasis on working as part of our strong school team, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping children achieve high standards.
Experience working with junior-aged children is required.
The postholder may lead a Read, Write, Inc. group, prepare resources, and ensure work is marked to a high standard.
Good skills in ICT, literacy, and maths are expected.
The postholder should act as a good model for spoken English.
Being well-organized and efficient is essential.
An enthusiasm and willingness to support after-school activities are encouraged.

All Learning Support staff in schools must be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales (EWC) from 1 April 2016, according to the Education (Wales) Act 2014.
