GKN Aerospace Western Approach site is expanding its NDT team. We are seeking a Level 2 NDT Technician to inspect carbon-fibre wing spars for A350XWB and A400M using semi-automated and manual ultrasonic methods.
You will work a 7-day fortnight with a 28% shift allowance, ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and health & safety, and provide reports. You may support NDT Level 3 and travel to customer sites as required.

Due to a continued growth in business, we have an exciting and career defining opportunity for a Level 2 NDT Technician to join the team in Western Approach. This site is an International Centre of Excellence in composite wing structure design and production, manufacturing composite wing spars and Fixed Trailing Edge assemblies for some of the world’s most popular aircrafts. The successful applicant will inspect and evaluate the A350XWB and A400M carbon wing spars and their associated components throughout the manufacturing process. These inspections will utilize semi-automated and manual phased array and conventional pulse-echo ultrasonic testing techniques. The successful candidate will work a 7-day fortnight shift pattern, which includes a 28% shift allowance: WK1: Monday / Tuesday / Friday / Saturday / Sunday; WK2: Wednesday / Thursday.
In this position, you will carry out semi-automated, manual phased array and manual pulse-echo ultrasonic inspection of carbon-fibre composite wing spars and associated components.
