Job summary

GKN Aerospace Western Approach site is expanding its NDT team. We are seeking a Level 2 NDT Technician to inspect carbon-fibre wing spars for A350XWB and A400M using semi-automated and manual ultrasonic methods.

You will work a 7-day fortnight with a 28% shift allowance, ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and health & safety, and provide reports. You may support NDT Level 3 and travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• EN4179 Level 2 qualification in ultrasonic inspection of carbon fibre composites.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and perform calculations.
• Strong mathematical proficiency with formulae transposition.

Responsibilities

• Carry out semi-automated and manual ultrasonic inspection of carbon-fibre wing spars.
• Produce reports on NDT results and communicate with customers/suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and aerospace quality standards.
• Support NDT Level 3 as required.
