Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist complex needs setting in Oldbury. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a daily pay of GBP95.89–GBP108.21 and October 2026 start (potentially sooner).

The position is Temp-to-Perm and based in a complex needs school. The ideal candidate holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, SEN, Early Years, or Health & Social Care and has prior SEN experience.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, SEN, Early Years, or Health & Social Care.
• Previous SEN experience, either professionally or personally.
• Understanding of supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to assist pupils with mobility and personal care requirements where necessary.
• Caring, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Experience within educational, care, or support-based environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students to re-engage with education and develop independence and life skills.
• Provide tailored emotional and learning support to pupils in a complex needs setting.
• Assist pupils with mobility and personal care where required.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement strategies for SEN students.

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist complex needs setting in Oldbury. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Early Years, Health & Social Care, or a related field, and will be passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Students within the setting are supported to re-engage with education, develop independence and life skills, and receive tailored emotional and learning support. Previous experience supporting individuals with PMLD, SLD, ASD, complex needs, or similar SEN requirements would be highly beneficial.

To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must

• Have the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
• Provide a minimum of two professional references related to working with children
