Job summary

Medirest Signature at Penwortham Leisure Centre is hiring a Leisure Officer on a fixed-term contract until June 2027. You will supervise pool areas, ensure safety, and deliver friendly customer service in a busy leisure environment.

The role requires NPLQ, strong communication, and a proactive health and safety approach. The candidate will work 37 hours weekly on site with opportunities to contribute to community leisure services.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, efficient and professional service to all customers.
• Supervise pool and leisure facilities to ensure safety.

• Respond to emergencies per EAP/PSOP, including first aid and rescue.
• Assist Duty Managers with health and safety checks.

We are looking to recruit a Leisure Officer on a temporary contract until June 2027 to join our friendly and committed team at Penwortham Leisure Centre.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of high quality community leisure services and to play a vital role in ensuring our customers enjoy a safe, welcoming and positive experience every time they visit.

What you'll be getting up to

• Providing a friendly, efficient and professional service to all customers
• Supervising the pool and leisure facilities to ensure customer safety at all times
• Monitoring customer behaviour, enforcing pool regulations and water safety policies
• Responding to emergencies in line with the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Pool Safety Operating Procedures (PSOP), including administering first aid and rescue when required
• Supporting Duty Managers with health and safety monitoring and operational checks

• Are calm and professional when responding to customer enquiries or issues
• Enjoy working with members of the public in a busy leisure environment
• Hold a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

• This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, facilitated by South Ribble Council
