Job summary

Potters Resorts – Five Lakes is seeking a proactive Leisure Club Assistant to deliver exceptional guest experiences in our Leisure Club, including pool and gym operations. You will work to 5-star service standards, audit facilities, and maintain high cleanliness and safety throughout the area.

Hours are 32–40 per week, with shifts including weekends and bank holidays. Previous face-to-face customer service in leisure or hospitality is essential; a full UK driving licence and own vehicle are

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly service to guests at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of Leisure Club operations (Pool & Gym).
• Support the Leisure Supervisor and motivate the Leisure team to deliver 5-star standards.
• Carry out regular audits and quality checks of Leisure Club, gym and pool facilities.

Job Description

About the Leisure Club Assistant role;

• To provide a friendly service to our guests at all times
• To have a robust understanding of the day-to-day operation of a Leisure Club including; Pool & Gym.
• To support the Leisure Supervisor delivering exceptional customer service, building a rapport with our resident Guests, and leading and motivating the Leisure team with the delivery of our 5 star service standards
• Ensuring that attention to detail reflects our professionalism; you will be expected to carry out regular audits and quality checks on all Leisure Club, Gym, and Swimming Pool facilities, addressing any shortfalls and ensuring that our 5star operational standards are maintained at all times
• Ensuring that cleanliness is kept to the highest standards on poolside, changing rooms, sports and leisure facilities, gym and spectator areas.
• Ensure the safety of all guests and team members by supporting the compliance and delivery of all company health and safety standards and systems, meeting all legal obligations as well as ensuring the security of equipment, chemicals and plant rooms

Customer service experience is essential to be considered for this role.

Hours of work:

• Leisure Club is open from 7.45 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
• You will work 32 - 40hours per week over 5 days to include weekends and bank holidays.
• Shifts will be worked between 10.30am - 7.30pm (usually a combination of 10.30am - 7pm or 3pm - 7pm)

** Rates of pay - Based upon age:

£12.71 per hr - Over 21

£10.85 per hour – 18 - 20

*Due to our rural location, the successful candidate will have a full UK driving licence together with their own vehicle as you will be unable to reach us using public transport

Qualifications

Whilst no formal qualifications are required for this role, we are looking for individuals who bring the right attitude, energy, and passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a face-to-face customer service role, ideally within a leisure, fitness, or hospitality environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with guests
• A proactive and positive approach, with a willingness to go above and beyond
• A flexible attitude, with a willingness to support cleaning duties and maintain high standards across the Leisure Club
• The ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient in a busy environment
• A strong team ethic, alongside the confidence to work independently when required

Experience within a leisure club, gym, or similar environment would be advantageous, but is not essential — full training will be provided.
