ALP Active is seeking a part-time Leisure Attendant to help manage bookings and front desk duties across partner school sites. The role supports opening hours, safety checks and customer service for community use of sport and leisure facilities.

The successful candidate will be friendly, organised and reliable, with a passion for sport and experience in leisure environments. A driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key holder for partner school sport and leisure facilities.
  • Undertake safety and operational checks of the building, environment and equipment and report faults.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and ALP Active procedures.
  • Confident with lone working.
  • Provide front desk reception services to clients.
  • Ensure facilities are open, clean and safe to use before usage.
  • Prepare facilities for the next school day with light cleaning duties.

Job description

Job title: Leisure Attendant

Salary: £12.85 per hour + 12.07% holiday pay entitlement

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Friday evenings and Saturday mornings (extra hours also optional during school holidays & across other ALP Active locations)

Working Pattern: Part time

Location: Parkside Academy, Hall Ln Estate, Willington, Crook DL15 0QF

Who are ALP Active?

This is an exciting time to join ALP Active, as we look to expand our provision into more communities and strengthen our community programme in all our schools. Each school within the Advance Learning Partnership are able to identify facilities which can be made available to hire by the community, during out of school hours. The facilities are then advertised and hired by a range of organisations, individuals, and franchises to provide activities for people of all ages to attend.

What are we looking for? We are looking for customer focused Leisure Attendant to work across our partner school sites. As the Leisure Attendant, you will play a key role in supporting and overseeing bookings during our opening hours.

We are looking for a hands-on, pro-active, and organised approach. This role suits somebody who has a passion for people, and some previous experience of working in a sport & leisure facility.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • A key holder for our partner school sport & leisure facilities
  • To undertake safety and operational checks of the building, environment and equipment and to rectify, where appropriate, or report any faults or problems
  • Adhering to all health and safety risk assessments, ALP Active policies and procedures
  • Confident with lone working
  • Having a flexible and adaptive approach to meet the needs of ALP Active & the school
  • Be committed to providing a first class service for all sports and leisure facilities
  • To support the school in achieving its vision to be an outstanding school and a centre of excellence for community engagement
  • Providing front desk reception services to clients
  • Ensuring all facilities are open, clean, clear and safe to use before usage
  • Ensure that all facilities are clean, tidy and ready for the next school day which would include light cleaning duties
