Job summary
Swift Group Ltd is seeking a Legislation Engineer to secure GB/EU Whole Vehicle Type Approvals for touring caravans, motorhomes and holiday homes. You will translate UK/EU legislation into practical engineering requirements and work with authorities, test facilities and internal teams from early design through to production.
The role concentrates on compliance across multiple product lines, including energy efficiency assessments with the Elmhurst calculator.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or related discipline.
- Experience interpreting EU/GB vehicle legislation.
- Ability to translate requirements into engineering designs.
- Experience with approval documentation and authorities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage GB and EU Whole Vehicle Type Approvals.
- Act as contact for authorities like VCA and SNCH.
- Ensure compliance for BS 3632, EN 1647 and gas/electrical/fire standards.
- Review evidence at NPI gate reviews and approve or withhold.
- Release Certificates of Conformity and statutory plates.
- Maintain standards register and supervise external testing.
- Monitor UK/EU/international legislation and influence NPI.
