Legal Director, Regulatory Affairs & Compliance - 10+ PQE - London

Marsden is excited to partner with a leader in the fintech sector to hire a Director of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance. This newly created role offers an opportunity to take on an integral, strategic position within a fast-paced, founder-led business that has already achieved 'Unicorn' status and is entering its next growth phase.

A competitive salary package, including long-term incentives, is on offer. The role is based in Central London with hybrid working arrangements.

Reporting to the Chief Legal & Risk Officer, you will play a key role focusing on all regulatory and compliance matters, including:

1. Acting as a key advisor to senior leaders, providing clear advice on FCA, consumer duty, and other relevant financial services regulatory and legal frameworks.
2. Supporting the business on legal and compliance risk advice.
3. Drafting and negotiating regulatory documentation.
4. Developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework aligned with operational processes.
5. Liaising extensively with the FCA and other regulators.
6. Advising on regulatory issues related to product launches and other key initiatives.
7. Instructing external counsel when required.

To be considered, you should be a qualified lawyer with 10+ years PQE, trained in the FS Regulatory practice of a top-tier firm, with subsequent experience in-house or in private practice in a similar capacity. You will bring deep technical knowledge as a regulatory lawyer and have prior experience working in an FCA-regulated environment. The ability to work effectively with C-suite stakeholders in a high-growth environment is essential.
