East Lancs Hospice

East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Our services to the local community would not be possible without our motivated and caring workforce who always strive to deliver excellence in all that they do. The hospice is a unique and special place, kindness and compassion are qualities that run throughout the hospice and our people truly believe in what we do.

The Role

This role will involve building a Legacy strategy for the organisation and working with the wider hospice to support our donors with their legacy pledge. The role is an exciting opportunity for the Income Generation team to make the most of our Legacy and In Memory Giving and build on a strong base that has already been established.

You will understand legacies and have a background within this income stream or relevant transferable skills. You will be confident in talking about legacies with a variety of existing and new donors and seek new opportunities to grow this income stream for the hospice.

You will work with the Data team on a supporter journey for our existing and new In Memory donors, as well as working closely with the fundraising team to identify new opportunities to promote Legacy and In Memory giving.

You will understand the importance of involving the wider organisation, especially our clinical team and marketing team to make sure Legacy and In Memory giving is a constant message to all stakeholders.

What we offer

This role is full time (37.5 hours flexible over 7 days) and the salary is £28,435. There will be opportunities to hybrid work when necessary, but the role will be mainly office-based working with the Income Generation team.

The successful candidate will be fully supported by an experienced Head of Fundraising and Director of Income Generation and Marketing.

We have an excellent, collaborative working environment with a generous holiday allowance of 27 days + Bank Holidays with the option to buy additional days. You will have access to learning and development opportunities, ongoing training, and funded access to a private health scheme. There is also onsite parking and an onsite Café with reduced staff prices.

Aside from the terms and conditions detailed above, you will joining a very special and unique organisation, where people are at the heart of everything we do.
